Things have been crazy busy since we got back from the conference. Jo Taylor who I brought with me was so fascinated by it all and very impressed with the speakers especially Vic Ketis. Obviously Sunday was a bit over her head but she still learned alot. I was rapt to meet up with some old friends and be back in sydney. You asked if we had any comments
and this is merely an observation not meant to be a criticism. I was disappointed and so was Jo that the speakers went off on their own and didnt spend the time with all of us. I think it reflects badly on them that they couldnt be bothered. Yourself and Edgar were the exceptions. We enjoyed Edgars abrupt honesty and had fun discussing my crazy 4 pillars
chart. Jo was fascinated and is patiently waiting for me to finish hers.. I havent yet caught up with the other Perth girls but will soon and will keep you posted. Well all the best
Wishing you Abundance and Serenity

I had a great time and met some fantastic people. I'm nearing the end of my course with ACES so it has been very inspiring to feel I can become a part of a professional community. Thanks for responding to my email the other day - without your reply I would have lacked to confidence to make the trip down.
Warm Regards,

Hi Fen, Thanks for inviting me to speak at your conference and for the lovely gift of the dragon. Thanks too for the instructions of where to place it for best effect. (I'm just a beginner). It was a warm crowd and a great venue. I loved the light filled tea and coffee area. I'm happy to be considered for talks at any future events and all the best with the rest of your weekend together.

Paul Fenton-Smith

I've heard from Jane as well that the conference has been a great success, congratulations for putting up a great show. We did some research on the Chinese garden while working as its Feng Shui consultant and architect in the upgrading a few years back, and it was a great surprise to us that the garden was done with Feng Shui, because it was a gift from Guangzhou to Sydney and Feng Shui was banned in mainland China then.

Out of the 20 or so pavilions in the garden there is only one with the name "mountain" and one with the name "water" attached to them and when you line them up, it points straight at the center of Tumbelong Park and you can get a sitting and facing reading out of it, so there is an inner orientation from the front entrance to the tallest pagoda on the other side of the lake, as well as an outer orientation from the garden towards the water of the harbour. We suspected that both the Flying Stars and the Early and Later Heaven Water methods were used in the design as well as the classical garden form Feng Shui techniques.

When the Australian landscape architect working on the project asked the old man in charge, "What about Feng Shui?" The old man looked back at him and smile and said, "Don't you worry about it!" Well, that was the story we were told. Catch you later.

Hi Jodi and the Committee
Thank you soo much for a great conference this weekend you all did a great job, I now have a newfound respect for all of you that spoke brilliantly in front of your peers. As for myself even with a long public speaking behind me I can't tell you how humbling it was to speak on front of you all.

Thank you Jodi and the Committee for introducing the concept that us, as FS practitioners can talk about our work. Everyone was friendly and I made many new FS friends from all over Australia.

Howard soo happy you are coming to Australia I'll be attending you seminar in FS for Retail Shops.. I just have to decide Melbourne or Sydney, I met you in Hong Kong at the FS Conference couple of years ago with your group of Students and you were all off to China. I enjoyed your Hong Kong Conference presentation immensely and made a point that if ever I had the chance to attend a class with you I should make sure I take it. One again thanks everyone.

Thanks everyone for another inspiring conference with some terrific speakers. The case studies were really interesting and food for thought. Lots of work went into its organisation and I personally have come away with energy to put more spark into what I do. Thanks Jodie, the committee and speakers for a wonderful job.

Feng Shui for Relationships

The focus of my talk was on Feng Shui, the use of form, annual stars, 8 mansions to activate and deactivate romance.  I also covered.how one can go about utilizing their birth year according to their animal sign and make use of their romance star from a Feng Shui perspective, determined through their 4 Pillars.

We are all composed of cosmic energy, and this energy is in constant interaction with the environment that surrounds us.  For this reason, our living space has a different effect on our mood, attitude, behaviour and the way we conduct our relationships and interactions.

In this presentation Jerry King approached the subject of relationships in an holistic manner, utilizing the ancient Chinese practices of Feng Shui, the I Ching and Four Pillars of Destiny in unison.  In doing so, Jerry demonstrated the interconnectedness of the three modalities.  Specifically, he outlined the ways in which Feng Shui practitioners can enhance the relationship lives of their clients.

World Events and the Year of the Rabbit in the Age of Eight

This year we have had record global Floods, the Japanese earthquake, Tsunami and nuclear accident, earthquake in New Zealand, a record Tornado season in America, rebellions and the overthrow of governments in Egypt, Tunisia and Libya, the ongoing controversy of the war in Afghanistan, the climate change issue etc. How can the year of the Rabbit, in the Age of 8, explain this, and what are the Chinese astrological implications for 2012.

Classical Chinese Building Ceremonies (Daoist Feng Shui Rituals)

‘Space clearing’ has become a popular aspect in modern Feng Shui.  While in its current incarnation it includes a myriad of techniques from various cultural origins, in its most traditional forms in China it existed as Daoist ceremonies for buildings and exorcism.  This presentation looked at the development of sacred space in the world of Feng Shui and provided insights into some of the classical customs with regard to Daoist rituals.  The author’s personal fieldwork and the text Lu Ban Jing, ‘Divine Carpenter’s Classic,’ was utilised to highlight some of the mysterious paraphernalia and arcane methods, with an emphasis on helping the practitioner to learn how and where to research and understand these arts for themselves.

Psychic Protection

We are all subject to countless impressions and energies on a daily basis. People, places and buildings can effect us on many levels, including emotionally, physically, and spiritually. As consultants, we have become more ‘energy aware’, as we enter various environments and encounter the unknown. Psychic protection is a means to prevent ‘unwanted’ energies having an influence on us. Domestic protection was practiced in the home for thousands of years, by many cultures, long before it was given its current name, or became a specialised subject.

In the following presentation, we looked at:

·        What psychic protection is

·        Why we all need it

·        Why are some of us more affected by the energies of other people, places and buildings than others

·        Why prevention is better than cure

·        Some quick, easy and effective methods of psychic protection you can use both daily, and in your work

·        How to maintain your own psychic space and energy field

·        How to create your own personal ‘bodyguard’

Practical Ways to Promote Your Practice

Feng Shui has existed for generations in China and there are certain ways to behave, address and engage the services of a Feng Shui Master.  We examined how Feng Shui was viewed in the past and how we can use these customs to formalise our practice.  With over 15 years experience as a practitioner, Jodi showed us how to make the most of our skills and knowledge of Feng Shui, including how to address clients, dealing with skeptical clients, public speaking to gain new business, writing articles and many other useful tips and hints from the ancient Feng Shui masters.

Intuition

Developing a reliable intuition can improve decision making and steer you away from difficult life circumstances. Combining intuition and logic in your practice may also improve your skills as a practitioner.

Author and clairvoyant Paul Fenton-Smith offered a range of simple, practical tips for developing and strengthening your intuition based on his 33 years experience in the field. In his talk Paul offered
•techniques to centre yourself.
•ways to identify your psychic strengths.
•a range of intuitive tools.
•an explanation of invisible psychic energy cords which link us to others.
•techniques to cleanse yourself and your environment.

Paul offered a demonstration of psychic cords using a volunteer from the audience where he described some of the people psychically connected to the volunteer. These incuded family members, freinds and past partners.

2011 AFSC Conference Speakers Panel (including Committee Members)

Our speakers were invited to join us on stage to take questions from members.  The focus was on practical work once again, and the delegates prepared questions about Feng Shui, experiences, difficulties and concerns and we discussed them openly at the conference.

Speakers for the Case Studies Workshop each presented an interesting and inspiring Feng Shui or Four Pillars case study of a chosen client.
