President Farewell
Hi all,
As the founding President and after 5 years of service I would like to farewell my position at AFSC. It has come time to hand over this wonderful journey to a team with fresh ideas and energies that will benefit both it's members and the public.
I would like to start off by thanking the founding members of AFSC.The founding members were:
Without the support of these amazing women the AFSC would never have started.
I must begin with Jude who has not only been my Vice President for all these years but has also become one of my best friends. Although we live in different states we usually communicate daily whether that is on skype, phone or email. We are actually quite opposite yet complementing each other perfectly and it is this fabulous relationship that I believe has lead to the continued success of AFSC. Jude is the attention to detail whilst I am the bull at a gate .......I have learnt a lot from her, however my attention to detail still requires more work! We have a wonderful relationship that I will cherish and look forward to continuing however we will now have to come up with another topic other than AFSC to talk about!
Nicole – what can I say – you are a pioneer of our industry and the benefit you have brought to all that have studied with you is priceless. You have supported me throughout my career and we have also become wonderful friends in the process, once again I am sure that will continue.
Meredith – whilst not practicing Feng Shui anymore both Jude and i still keep in contact with Meredith and I thank her for her support. The three of us studied with Nicole 7 years ago and how wonderful that we have developed such a bond – which I am sure some of you can appreciate.
Anjela – Once again a colleague and friend. Whilst we didn’t study together at ACES we formed a relationship through Anjela's generous nature including openly sharing her knowledge and experiences with me and this is something I am extremely grateful for.
Whilst Vic was not a founding member he has been very supportive of my role in AFSC and once again is a very giving person who I have worked with over the years and also studied with. We all know his level of generosity and that is shown here again this weekend.
Last but definitely not least is my husband – whilst not here today I have to thank him from the bottom of my heart as it was because of him I started my journey in the world of Classical Feng Shui – and I do remind him of this when requesting he help with the rearranging of furniture! . He has always been so supportive of my career and Feng Shui even though he did mention to Jude’s husband that they should start a group for “Husbands of Feng Shui Consultants”.
I am truly thankful to everyone that has supported me in my journey and if you would have asked me in April if I was thinking of stepping down from AFSC the answer would have been no way – it’s my baby and I’m not ready. However alot changed in the months after that – thanks to the year of the Tiger I am sure. My family and my career circumstances have changed over the past few months and it was time to really consider my reasons for continuing on as President of AFSC. I must say that it was not an easy decision, however I do believe it is the right one for me at this point in time.
AFSC is well established and has a brilliant foundation for the incoming committee to build upon so I wish them every success and look forward to continuing on as a member of AFSC and observing it's growth.
Take care, Liz
